MILITARY SERVICE: Frank served in the 11the U.S. Cavalry (discharged May 3, 1916) and the 305th Infantry of the U.S. Army 77th Division..  The latter unit fought in France in World War I.   Rank: Bnd. Corporal.
OCCUPATION: Frank was a musician. He was Drum Major of the 305th Infantry band, and cornetist in the Jefferson Barracks band, U.S. Army,  Missouri..

29. Rowland Seaman PINKHAM  (Julia Adelaide JONES , Catharine A. (Kate) BEDELL , Benjamin P. ), a.k.a. Rowland Pinkham Seaman JONES and Rowland SEAMAN.  Rowland was born on 22 Jun 1892 in Ozone Park, Queens County, New York. He was christened on 1 Jan 1899 in the First Congregational Church, Rockaway Beach, New York. He died on 27 Dec 1973 in Far Rockaway, Queens County, New York. He was buried on 31 Dec 1973 in Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York.. 

OCCUPATION: Before becoming a licensed electrician, Rowland worked as a carpenter, a plumber's apprentice, and, prior to World War I, a piano player in a Tin Pan Alley sheet-music store. He was a member of New York Local No. 3 Electricians Union
MILITARY SERVICE: Rowland served in France during World War I. He was a private in the 49th Aero Squadron,  Air Service, U.S. Army, promoted to corporal.  After the War, he enlisted in the National Guard and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  During World War II, he worked as a civilian electrician on classified projects at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. and the U.S. Coast Guard fac ility in Sands Point, Long Island.  He was a member of the Far Rockaway Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
OTHER: By 1910 he was most commonly lnown as Rowland Seaman.  Nicknames were "Rollie" and "Pinky", the latter based on his birth surname..

"Rowland Seaman of 1084 Gipson street, Far Rockaway, died on December 27 at Peninsula Hospital Center.

Mr. Seaman, 81, born in Ozone Park, had been a resident here 80 years. An Army veteran of Air Pursuit Squadron in France and was a member of Far Rockaway Post, No. 1498, Veterans of Foreign Wars. An electrical coordinator since 1910, he was a member of Local No. 3 Electricians Union.

He leaves his wife, the former Elsie Bedell, two sons, Richard of Far Rockaway, and Robert of Inwood; two daughters, Elsie Vairo and Vivian Vilardi
[sic, Velardi] of Far Rockaway; and 15 grandchildren.

Services were held on Sunday evening by the Rev. Henry M. Childs at the First Congregational Church. Interment was made on Monday in Long Island National Cemetery, Pinelawn, under the direction of the Denis S. O'Conner Funeral Home, Rockaway Beach."

Catherine married  James Joseph LORNE, son of Patrick J. Lorne, about 1939. James was born on 1 Oct 1908. He died on 15 Jun 1990 in Broward, Florida.

Announcement  has been made of  the engagement of Miss Catherine Ann Jones,  daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ellsworth Jones of Rockaway Beach, to James J. Lorne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Lorne of Neponsit.

Miss Jones attended Far Rockaway High School and Browne's Business School and is connected with the New-York Herald Tribune. Mr. Lorne prepared at La Salle Institue for Manhattan College, from which he was graduated.
